Local Nonprofit Leaders Gathered at Shine the Light
DNA Creative Communications (DNA), in partnership with the Hollingsworth Funds, Community Foundation of Greenville and United Way of Greenville County, hosted the first session of the Shine the Light (STL) Nonprofit Forums on Wednesday at the Kroc Center.
“The commitment to advancing our local nonprofit leadership was obvious with the great attendance and energetic conversations,” said Debbie Nelson, President of DNA and founder of STL.
More than 60 executive directors and board leaders from the Upstate gathered at the first session, Creating a Strong Organizational Culture, to learn, collaborate and network. Keynote speaker Pratichi Shah, CEO and founder of Flourish TMS, joined us from Washington, DC to share her experiences with nonprofit leadership and culture. A panel of four local nonprofit leaders joined Pratichi in discussing how her topics relate to Greenville’s nonprofit success stories:
Benny Walker, Senior Associate, The Riley Institute
Tish McCutchen, VP of Organizational Planning & Public Affairs, United Way of Greenville County
Tod Tappert, VP, Chief of Staff & Chief Learning Officer, Greenville Health System
Shellie Haroski, HR Consultant, Find Great People
This year’s STL focus is on four key elements of nonprofit leadership. All sessions will be held at the Kroc Center from 8 a.m. − noon with a networking breakfast. The remaining three sessions are:
• Developing and Engaging a High Performing Board on July 16, featuring Susan Meier, principal of Meier & Associates
• Expanding Leadership Beyond Your Walls on September 17, featuring Sydney Rogers, Executive Director of Alignment Nashville
• Leading for Sustainability on November 19, featuring Kathy Hedge, author and Nonprofit Consultant
